About Spring Lake Nature Center
Spring Lake Nature Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization rooted in the belief that strong communities grow from a deep connection to the land. Conceived in 2023 by Williston resident Lee Lusht, the center was envisioned as a space where education, conservation, and community intersect in meaningful, accessible ways.
Our mission is to provide hands-on environmental education, engaging programs for all ages, and a welcoming place to explore and appreciate the outdoors—free from politics and powered by local donations and grants. We’re currently developing a mobile outreach vehicle to bring nature-based learning directly to schools, events, and rural communities across western North Dakota. Looking ahead, we plan to establish a permanent nature center at Spring Lake Park, creating a lasting hub for environmental education, stewardship, and community connection.

Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where Nature may heal and cheer and give strength to body and soul alike.
